Ben Styche, Retail Controller at Cafédirect, said, “Now in its seventeenth year, the Great Taste Awards have become a real accolade for independent fine food and drink producers operating in the UK.

We are very proud of these awards and consider it a significant endorsement of Cafédirect’s unique way of doing business, working directly with grower communities around the world in order to continue to provide customers with top quality, great tasting product.”

The Great Taste Awards are known for the rigorous judging process, with each entry tasted and reviewed by a minimum of eight industry experts. Organised by the Guild of Fine Food and attracting over 4,500 entries every year, the awards are acknowledged by producers, retailers and consumers as a defining benchmark for the independent fine food and drink market.

Cafédirect is the brand leader in Fairtrade black blended tea and significantly is the only 100 percent Fairtrade black tea range in grocery multiples. The blends include Grade Six Kenyan tea grown in soils of the Nyambene Hills, Kenya, which have a higher lime and clay content, resulting in a sweeter, less acidic tea.
