Eros launched at the Arc in Cambridge

The newly built Arc Café, at the University of Cambridge has launched Eros coffee. Peros were on site to support the launch on Friday with the eye-catching Eros barista bike.

Students and staff enjoyed mini caramel and hazelnut lattes, as well as the full range of Eros coffees and London Tea Company teas from the La Spaziale machine on site.

Fairtrade Jelly Bean treats at Western College

Students at Western College were delighted to be able to sample delicious Fairtrade Jelly Beans, Popcorn and Organic and Fairtrade Chocolate from Nero & Bianco yesterday. Many of the students were keen to try all 36 flavours of jelly beans with many deciding that the popcorn flavoured beans were the best!

The restaurant was refurbished over the summer and is proving extremely popular with students. We can certainly see why, it has beautiful views over the sea and the newly opened Western Super-Mare Pier.

University of Herts Students Get Hot, Steamy and Ginger(!) at Café Taste

Students and Lecturers alike enjoyed a taster of the ‘Gingerbread Latte’ as part of a promotion to mark the Eros rebrand at Cafe Taste on the College Lane Campus. With the caffeine-free Detox Steamer on offer also, there was a high degree of interest for the new look cafe.

Eros Coffee Launches at Middlesborough College

With over 4,000 full time students and apprentices at Middlesborough College, the Catering Team were keen to choose a coffee brand that fitted the look and feel of the progressive College. Catering Manager Alistair Wrigley loved the taste, branding and ethos of eros coffee which led him to make the decision to offer it through many of his catering outlets.

Yesterday saw the launch of the brand on campus and students were delighted with the taste of the coffee and the new look branding. The College is investing significantly in improving its facilities to students and eros coffee will be further rolled out in October 2012.

Pipers Crisps are having a brand refresh!

Sales of Pipers Crisps have grown phenomenally well over the last 7 years since their launch. As a brand which is extremely proud of its farming heritage, the brand has decided to shout more about this on their packaging.

Available from mid February, the new look packs clearly show that the crisps are Made by Farmers as the potatoes really do go straight from field to pack. The origin of the flavour is also featured on the front of the pack to add authentic provenance.

All batches of Pipers Crisps are hand checked to ensure that the crisps really are the crunchiest and best textured on the market. The brand is not available in major supermarkets and this gives originality and exclusivity to one of the fastest growing independent crisp brands in the UK.

The new packs and new Point of Sale will be available from Peros in Mid February

Peros and Cafedirect Guest Lecture at The University of Leeds Business School

Louise Whitaker from Peros and George Corbin, Brand Manager from Cafedirect, were both delighted to have been asked to deliver a guest lecture at the University of Leeds Business School last Tuesday.

In August Louise and George had escorted two prize winning Leeds Undergraduates to Tanzania to show the students first hand the positive benefits Fairtrade has with the coffee growers and their communities. “It was a real honour to be invited to speak”, says Louise. “ We decided to speak on a subject that we called Ethics v’s Ethics: The Communications Challenge.” We focussed on the broad range of ethical brands available in the market place, then using Cafedirect as an example, we tried to show students how challenging it is to convey all of the positive ethical work that Cafedirect does.

Using packaging as an example of this and contrasted all of the market research that brands like Cafedirect do into their customers against the speed at which people make purchasing decisions. We wanted to try and demonstrate how difficult it can be to get even positive messages across and we invited discussion from the students. We also wanted to talk to the students about our career paths and show that you can marry a commercial career with ethics and that sometimes the path to get there can be unconventional!”

One hundred and forty six million! That’s how many underweight children in desperate need of nutrition there are in the developing world.

Thanks to our customers however, Peros are helping to bring this number down a little. Each order of One Porridge secures a donation for The One Foundation which, will help fund a school feeding programme in Malawi. Working with Mary’s Meals, One will provide school children with a nutritious daily meal.
